Getting to WCBNE19

WordCamp Brisbane will be held once again at the beautiful QUT Garden Point Campus, this year we’ll be located in Z Block – the same location as in 2018!
(for those of you who didn’t make it along last year, please note that this is NOT the same location as 2015 & 2017)

Please Note: Gardens Point is a 100% non-smoking campus, if you wish to smoke, please see QUT’s page on smoking – The closest location would be the public road between the building and the Ferry Terminal, please ensure you follow all signage present at the venue however.

Public transport

You can travel to and from Gardens Point by bus, train, CityCat (ferry) or taxi.

The campus has its own CityCat stop, and is a short walk from Central and South Bank train stations, and King George Square and Queen Street bus stations.

Please note: Northern Train lines between Northgate and Kippa-Ring/Gympie are replaced by buses this weekend.

All public transport in South-East Queensland is run by TransLink.

Parking

Paid parking is available on campus, although may be limited and is not pre-bookable. WordCamp will be in Z Block, which has some parking, however the other parking lots on campus are a very short walk away.

The Parking costs are reasonable, at only $10 per entry+exit. You may park overnight if required (Sat Morning -> Sun evening) however you’ll be charged $10/day in that case ($20 total). Please don’t take our word for it, confirm the latest prices & restrictions in the above link. Please verify the costs yourself on the QUT website.

In the event that QUT parking is unavailable, or you want to pre-book parking, there are also numerous commercial car parks within walking distance in the CBD and over the river in South Bank.

Cycling

Brisbane City Council has maps of bikeways and shared pathways around the city, as well as information about bike parking and facilities, and taking your bike on public transport.
